On to bigger news...last week Andy and I became an uncle and auntie! My younger brother, Owen, and his wife, Jessie, had a baby boy on December 22, 2009. Reid Owen Sweitzer is 7 lbs 7oz and 19 inches. Owen and Jessie are wonderful parents and it was great being able to spend time with them as they experienced their first few days of being parents. I could feel my own material instincts kicking in while holding Reid and helping with his basic care--being around him makes me feel more connected with my own child growing inside me.

I'm an auntie!
I am now in the 15th week of pregnancy. Jo-Jo should be the size of a softball by the end of this week! My energy is returning (although my body still seems to prefer 9-10 hours of sleep a night) and my aversions to certain foods has decreased. Besides my belly starting to show a little I really have no symptoms of being pregnant, which makes it seem like it we still have a long time to prepare for the birth. However, in reality we have less than six months. People ask us if we have picked out names, nursery colors, and other similar questions. The answer to all are no. The last four months were a whirlwind with me finishing graduate school--I had a hard enough time trying to eat relatively healthy and stay awake to get my work completed. Even now that I have two weeks off, I am focusing more on the now--experiencing the pregnancy, trying to get back to a healthy eating and exercise routine, spending time with Andy, friends, and family. I am not worried about the other plans and preparations--they will be completed eventually.
